Can Dogs Have Peaches?
As we approach the summer, my dog is eagerly listing off all the delicious seasonal fruit she can sink her tiny canine teeth into. On the top of her list are peaches.
Thankfully for her, peaches are a safe treat to give your furry friend. According to the American Kennel Club, the fruit has plenty of vitamins and minerals, like vitamin A, that are beneficial to our canine companions. However, giving too much of the sugary fruit to your furry friend could lead to tummy issues.
It is also important to thoroughly wash the fruit and take out its pit before handing sliced pieces to your pet. Not only does the pit pose a serious choking threat, but it also has the cyanogenic glucoside amygdalin, which can cause issues to our furry friends.
Pet MD also stated that pup parents should always contact their dog’s vet prior to changing up their diets.
