Can Dogs Eat Honeydew Melons?
My furry friend is spoiled beyond belief. When anyone comes over to my house they are astonished by the amount of clothes and toys she owns. But who can blame me for spoiling her? She’s an adorable little princess who deserves absolutely everything.
However, I do have a caveat to that. I will never feed my furry friend anything that could potentially cause her harm. Thankfully, there are plenty of tasty fruits that are safe for canine consumption, like honeydew melons.
According to Pet MD, dogs can safely consume honeydew, as long as they do not have any allergies to the fruit.
Not only is the fruit delicious, but it is also chock-full of fiber, vitamins, and potassium.
To prepare a honeydew for your canine companion, use a sharp knife and cut up the fruit into small, bite-sized cubes. The seeds and rind should be completely removed. You should also be mindful of how much honeydew you are giving your furry friend. Given its high sugar content, your dog should really only have a piece or two, especially if they are on the smaller side.
Please remember to always consult your vet before adding any new foods to your dog’s diet!
