Can Dogs Eat Chicken Wings?

With the big game coming up this Sunday, my furry friend and I are already coming up with our Super Bowl spread. We're planning on having chips, dip, and of course, chicken wings.

Now, given that she's a dog, my furry friend will not be indulging in the chips or dip, due to the high sodium and fat content. She also can't have chicken wings, especially with any dipping sauce. For those unaware, chicken wings contain bones that can easily lodge into our canine companion's throats. According to PetMD, the bones can also splitter and cut your dog's intestines, which can cause major problems.

Thankfully, dogs can eat fully cooked, unseasoned chicken as long as it is off the bones, as reported by the American Kennel Club. And that's exactly what my furry friend will be eating this Super Bowl Sunday!

Please remember that pieces of chicken should only be given to pups as a treat. In addition, always talk to your vet before you introduce anything new to your dog's diet -- like chicken.
