Can Dogs Eat Celery?

This weekend, I decided to have a get-together with a couple of friends. I put out a few snacks — including a crudite platter. To my surprise, no one touched the celery. Frankly, I found that bizarre because I love celery, especially with some ranch.

My dog agrees — at least about the celery. Unfortunately for her, she hasn’t been given any ranch, due to the seasoning and high-fat content.

Now, you may be wondering — wait, so it’s safe to give your dog celery? According to the American Kennel Club, it’s fine to occasionally give your dog a couple of small bites of the biennial vegetable. In fact, it’s pretty darn healthy as it's full of fiber and has plenty of vitamins!

That being said please always speak to your dog’s vet before adding anything new — like celery to your pet’s diet!
