A Look At Treatibles: CBD Products For Dogs

CBD is having a moment. Over the past few years, we have seen a rising presence of CBD products for people at our local grocery stores, specialty stores, and dispensaries. CBD has many benefits according to experts in the medical community and is often used to treat individuals with chronic pain, inflammation, migraines, epilepsy, autoimmune diseases, depression, and anxiety.

It should be no surprise that the surge in CBD products for people also generated demand for pet products, spawning entirely new product lines and brands of CBD for dogs, cats, and other animals.

According to Dr. Jerry Klein of the American Kennel Club, CBD can be administered to dogs to regulate pain, control seizures, stimulate appetite, improve heart health, reduce inflammation, curb nausea, and bring down anxiety.

Treatibles is one of the leading companies offering CBD products for dogs, cats, and horses. Founded by Julianna Carella in 2013, Treatibles offers a wide range of CBD products including hard and soft chews, capsules, oils, and topical creams with the goal to provide harmony within your pets. They have had success launching their brand in the US and have continued to expand internationally.

Their focus on natural ingredients is at the core of their products. This includes a commitment to organic certification, which I find incredibly important as a pet parent who seeks out quality products for my fur babies.

Not only do I want clean and natural ingredients, I want to know my dog and cat will enjoy the flavors as well. Treatibles offers a bunch of flavors in their chew products including blueberry, pumpkin, turkey, sweet potato, salmon, chicken liver, and peanut butter. Thankfully I have yet to find a flavor my pets don’t enjoy. I also think the treats look really cute too - many are heart shaped!

Lauren and I have been Treatibles customers for a couple of years.

We tried their chews with our dog Pixie when she was diagnosed with vestibular disease and Cushing’s disease in 2019 and 2021 - medical conditions that create anxiety, instability, and difficulty regulating hormones, water consumption, and hunger, to name a few. We really needed something that would help her through a difficult time. For a couple hours at a time after giving her chews, we saw a considerable improvement in her mood.

Additionally, when our cat Duke began to suffer from arthritis and flashes of feline hyperesthesia syndrome, we also turned to Treatibles’ cat chews. After we lost Pixie and our other cat Gus earlier this year, Duke really took a turn with his mental health, and we had success with chicken liver flavor soft chews. They really seemed to mellow him out in a time of extreme stress for him and for us as we all grieved.

Recently, we adopted a new dog named Sadie, she’s an Australian Cattle Dog / Great Pyrenees mix who came to us through foster care. After having six puppies in central California and relocating to the busy city of Los Angeles, she was a ball of nerves. Adjusting to cars, a new home, separation from her puppies and foster parents, and meeting her new family was a lot to take in all at once. We heavily relied on Treatibles CBD treats to help her work through stress and anxiety, and she became well rested and tempered.

Here’s our girl Sadie, she was excited for this soft chew!

Our friends at Treatibles provided a few samples to support Sadie and Duke during their transition and we caught up with their team to find out in their words what makes Treatibles so special compared to other CBD pet products on the market.

"The best feature to point out that differentiates us from other pet CBD brands is that we have the best quality for the best price per milligram of CBD,” said Julianna Carella, Founder & CEO. “When customers do the math, they see that our product truly is priced well. Treatibles are affordable for pet parents who want to give their pets a CBD regimen without breaking the bank.”

What else makes Treatibles special? They partner closely with rescue facilities across the country by providing donations and discounted samples, ensuring their CBD products are available for pets in need at the time they need them most. If you consider the environment pets are entering into when they arrive at a shelter, rescue, or a foster home, they’ve likely experienced trauma, separation anxiety and abandonment, and pain from untreated ailments. We love when brands like Treatibles give back to the dog community and support dog rescues.

As always, Woof Republic recommends consulting with your veterinarian before administering CBD or any new medications, supplements, treats, or food to your pets.
