Should I Give My Dog a Pear?
When it comes to my dog, I’m not that strict. While there are rules that she has to follow, I go for more of a fun mom approach. I just really like spoiling her, which you would understand if you saw her. She looks like a teddy bear who has come to life.
However, I am not lenient when it comes to sharing food with her. Even though I am weak-willed when it comes to my pup, I never want her to get sick because I feed her something that is not safe for canine consumption.
Thankfully there are some delicious fruits my furry friend can safely eat, like pears.
According to the American Kennel Club, pup parents can give their canine companion pears in moderation. You should always give your dog tiny pieces of the fruit so they do not accidentally choke. Your furry friend should also not consume the fruit’s seeds as they “contain traces of the toxin cyanide,” per the AKC.
You should always talk to your vet before introducing new foods to your dog’s diet.
