Kauai Humane Society Has An Incredible Program That’s Helping People And Pups

The Kauai Humane Society is offering an excellent opportunity that’s helping people and rescue dogs get a much-needed outing. The rescue center, located in Lihue, HI, has reinstated its incredible Field Trip program. The program allows participants, who are over the age of 18, to have an adventure with one of the dogs from the rescue from the hours of 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Those who wish to do so are asked to schedule an appointment online, give a donation of $40, and fill out a liability form. Once at KHS, participants will be paired with a suitable dog and be given a fabulous Field Trip backpack. The staff will also provide you with suggestions on where to go with the pooch. Popular spots that Spot is sure to love include Kalapaki Beach, Kukuiolono Golf Course Path, and Kapaa Coastal Path. It is important to note that dogs must be leashed at all times during the outing and participants will be charged $100 if the pup is returned after 5 p.m. Also if you are already a pup parent, you’ll have to leave Fido at home, as the rescue doesn’t want its dogs to interact with other canines.

Here at Woof Republic, we think this program is amazing and that more rescue should follow suit. It will certainly brighten both the person and pup’s day, during these rather bleak times.
