Is It Safe for Your Dog to Eat Pasta?

I’m not ashamed to admit that I absolutely love pasta. I eat it at least once a week, if not more. Not only that, but my favorite restaurant is the Ole Spaghetti Factory. I’m being very serious about this. 

My love of pasta has led me to wonder if my furry friend can safely partake in the delicious food.

Unfortunately, for our canine companions, pasta isn’t a healthy snack for a pup. While it’s not toxic for dogs, it doesn’t have any health benefits, as reported by Pet MD. And it can be dangerous if it’s covered in sauce. For those unaware, most pasta sauces contain garlic and onion, which are deadly to our furry friends. 

That being said, if your dog consumes a small amount of plain pasta, you shouldn’t worry. However, just keep your eye on the situation. And if you do think something is wrong, call your vet ASAP.
