Glen Powell Shares Adorable Pictures of His Rescue Dog on the Set of 'Twisters'
Actor Glen Powell has certainly made a name for himself over the last few years. He’s charmed audiences with his portrayal of Lieutenant Jake "Hangman" Seresin in 2022’s “Top Gun: Maverick,” Ben in the 2023 hit romcom, “Anything But You,” and Gary Johnson in the 2024 Netflix film “Hitman.”
Not only is Powell a wonderful actor, but he is a very devoted dog dad to a rescue pup, named Brisket. On July 8, Powell took to his Instagram account to share an adorable picture of the very good boy on the set of the upcoming film “Twisters.” According to the post’s caption (which may have been written in jest), Brisket will make his acting debut in the 2024 disaster movie.
“Shortly after being adopted, @hotbrisket joined the cast of ‘Twisters’ and was quickly called ‘the Lassie of his generation.’ Rumors are swirling of him leading a ‘Homeward Bound’ reboot that would crown him as ‘Hollywood’s King of the Animal Kingdom,’” wrote Powell.
On the June 10 episode of the “Drew Barrymore Show, Powell opened up about his decision to adopt Brisket, who he calls his “son.”
He explained that he decided that he wanted to become a pup parent while shooting “Twisters” in Oklahoma.
“I was feeling like I needed to be a dad as soon as possible. So Brisket was the solution,” said Powell.
He also shared that he adopted the very good boy from The LaBelle Foundation, located in Los Angeles. In addition, he stated that his furry friend was taken in by the rescue around the Fourth of July. The 35-year-old suggested his beloved dog was at risk of being put down.
“It’s kind of terrible. But before July 4th, you know, because a lot of dogs run away, with the fireworks, he was probably one of those crew that would be put down. So, we got Brisket just in time,” said Powell.
