Lewis Hamilton Reveals Why He Adopted His Beloved Rescue Bulldog, Roscoe

Fans of British racing driver Lewis Hamilton are well aware that he is absolutely obsessed with his rescue bulldog, Roscoe.

During an appearance on the May 30 episode of “Hot Ones,” Hamilton explained why he decided to become Roscoe's pup parent. He shared that he was looking for a relatively small dog, who could easily travel. He also shared he wanted a pup that was “strong.”

“I got him. I think he was 8 weeks old when I got him. And he was just like the easiest dog. He never chewed anything. He was just chill from the get-go,” said Hamilton.

The Formula 1 racer also shared that his furry friend is “ like the team mascot” and is often at his races.

According to Essentially Sports, the racing driver explained that he “tr[ies] to take him to as many [races] as possible, because Roscoe’s getting old” while being interviewed by children in 2021.

“I don’t know how long I’ll have him around. So, I’m trying to keep him with me everywhere,” stated  Hamilton.

He then asserted that Roscoe is his “best friend.”

“I can confide in him, and he brings me happiness every day. When I go training, he’s sad when I leave. And when I get back, he’s super happy. It’s a funny interaction!” stated Hamilton.

Roscoe is currently thriving as a social media star and has amassed more than 1 million dedicated Instagram followers

Hamilton had another English bulldog named Coco, who unfortunately passed away in 2020. The seven-time world champion shared the devastating news of the dog’s passing in a poignant Instagram post
