Can My Dog Eat Blueberries?

My dog has a more refined palate than anyone I’ve ever met. This means she is an adventurous eater and is willing to try anything, including old pizza crust on the sidewalk. And when I say, ‘Please don’t eat that, you’ll get sick,” she responds, “That’s something someone who has never been to a Michelin Star restaurant would say.” And she’s right. I haven’t. Although, I’m not sure that she has either. But it’s best not to argue with her.

Anyway, because she enjoys so many foods, I try to keep track of tasty treats she can eat, like different kinds of fresh fruit. Thankfully, my furry friend, like all dogs unless they have an allergy, can consume blueberries

According to the American Kennel Club, not only are blueberries a sweet little treat for your sweetheart, but the fruit can also be quite beneficial. For example, the berry has plenty of antioxidants and fiber. In addition, you can make a fun little game by throwing one blueberry at a time and having your dog attempt to catch them.

Please contact your vet before introducing blueberries into your dog’s diet!
