Can I Give My Dog Watermelon?
I firmly believe that watermelon is the GOAT of summer snacks. It’s sweet, refreshing, and tastes great with some Tajin. My dog also happens to be a major fan of the fruit! And what’s great is that it is actually healthy for her.

That’s right – watermelon is safe for canine consumption. According to the American Kennel Club, watermelon has quite a few benefits for our furry friends. For instance, the fruit is hydrating, full of vitamins, and low in calories. However, due to its sugar content, it’s best practice to only give your dog a piece or two of the fruit on occasion. Also, remember to remove the rind and seeds before allowing your dog to snack on any watermelon.
In addition, please check with your vet before adding anything new to your dog’s diet, including watermelon!
