Can I Give Black Beans to My Dog?
I'm not ashamed to admit that I have completely spoiled my dog. She gets at least one new toy every few weeks and has dozens of outfits. What can I say? She is a little princess who deserves everything her heart desires.

Despite her lavish lifestyle, she has some complaints. For instance, she doesn't love how strict I am about her diet. She thinks it is a crime that I rarely feed her “people food.”
Thankfully there are certain "human" foods she can enjoy. For instance, according to PetMD, canine companions can enjoy black beans, which have plenty of protein, fiber, and potassium. However, please only give your dog plain, unseasoned beans. In addition, you should not give your dog beans from a can, as those beans usually have an excess amount of sodium.

Just a reminder – you should always have a conversation with your vet before you change anything to your canine companion’s diet – like introducing them to black beans.
