Can Dogs Eat Artichokes?
Here’s a fun little fact about me – one of my favorite foods is artichokes. Growing up, I would often eat steamed artichoke served with a heaping helping of secret sauce, aka ketchup and mayonnaise. Currently, my go-to snack is marinated artichoke hearts straight from the jar, which I highly recommend.

My love of artichokes got me wondering if my furry friend can also safely enjoy the delicious food. Thankfully for her, artichokes are okay for dogs to eat. However, it’s important to note that dogs should only have cooked, unseasoned, small pieces of this edible thistle.
You should also always talk to your dog’s vet before adding anything new — like artichokes — to their diet!
