Can Dogs Eat Almonds?
I’m not ashamed to admit that I am a junk food queen. My ideal meal is two Taco Bell bean burritos washed down with a Zero Sugar Monster Energy drink. I know, it’s not great. Please don’t tell my doctor. I don’t need the lecture.
Anyway, I occasionally try to eat better. And when I’m on said health kick, I’ll eat a handful of nuts, specifically almonds, to snack on. While recently munching on my almonds, I began wondering if it’s also a suitable snack to give my furry friend.
According to the American Kennel Club, almonds aren’t great for our canine companions. Unfortunately, if your dog consumes this type of nut, they may experience gastric intestinal distress. The symptoms of GI distress include vomiting and diarrhea. Your dog may also lose their appetite and become lethargic. In addition, the nut could get stuck in your furry friend’s esophagus.

So if you are eating almonds, make sure you keep them away from your dog, no matter how hard they beg!
