6 Fun Ways to Celebrate Christmas With Your Dog

Christmas is right around the corner! If you are as obsessed with your dog as I am, you’ll want to include them in the holiday cheer. Here are a few ideas on how to best celebrate Christmas with your canine companion by your side.

Make Your Dog Some Christmas Cookies

I like celebrating the holiday season by eating entirely too many cookies. If my pants can button after the month of December, I’m doing it wrong.

Unfortunately for my furry friend, the holiday treats I eat aren’t healthy for canine companions. However, I still want her to have a tasty time, so I’ll be making her some dog-safe Christmas cookies. If you want to do the same, here are a few recipes to try out during the winter!

Unfortunately, my dog is materialistic and completely obsessed with toys. So, you best believe she gets a couple of gifts from Santa Paws. If you are on a budget this year or just want to be mindful about consumption, we think it’s a good idea to wrap up one of your dog’s beloved toys and have them open it underneath the Christmas tree. While the toy might not be new, Fido will still have a total blast!

Take a Walk & Look at the Beautiful Christmas Lights

There's nothing better than going on a walk to check out some of your neighborhood Christmas lights alongside your furry friend. This also gives you an opportunity to digest all the delicious food you ate during your Christmas dinner.

Some neighborhoods host fun parades on Christmas Day. If yours allows dogs, consider bringing your canine companion!

Watch a Dog-Themed Christmas Movie

During December, all my dog and I want to do is get cozy on the couch and watch a good holiday movie. While nearly all holiday movies can melt even the most frozen of hearts, we do have our preferences. Basically, all of our favorite holiday films feature furry friends who are total scene-stealers!

Here are nine cheery Christmas movies that showcase the talents of canine companions.

Help Dogs in Need

Celebrate the month of giving by donating some new toys or food to your local shelter. We recommend calling ahead to see what they exactly need.

You can also volunteer at a shelter. Plenty of places are looking for people to help socialize shelter dogs!
