5 Dog-Friendly Apple Recipes Perfect for the Fall

One of my favorite ways to spend a crisp autumn morning is to take my dog for a walk and retrieve an apple Danish from our local bakery. Now, I don’t know about you but I always feel guilty when I have a delicious treat, and my furry friend doesn’t. While the apple danishes I devour during the fall season are not safe for canine consumption, I can, thankfully, bake a delicious apple treat that she can safely enjoy.

Without further ado, here are five apple recipes I’ll make for my dog this autumn.

Apple and Peanut Butter Dog Treats

This recipe from For The Love of Cooking calls for peeled and diced apples, flour, oats, cinnamon, salt, eggs, and creamy peanut butter that does not contain xylitol.

Tasty Dog Apple Chips

Dog Child recommends baking slices of apples until the fruit resembles chips for your furry friend to enjoy.

If you want to give your dog something extra fall-flavored consider making these pumpkin-apple dog treats from AllRecipes. You’ll need rolled oats, one apple, an egg, and canned pumpkin. This tasty treat is surprisingly healthy for your furry friend. After all, apples have plenty of fiber, vitamins, and antioxidants,  as reported by the American Kennel Club. In addition, the AKC reported that cooked, unsweetened pumpkins can help alleviate some of your pup’s stomach issues.
