What You Need to Know About Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson's Late Dog, Hobbs
Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson is mourning the loss of his beloved dog, Hobbs.
Johnson made the devastating announcement about his dog’s death in a February 25 Instagram upload. The post featured several videos and pictures of the sweet pup.
In the caption of the post, Johnson said that he has “ been numb over this loss.” He said that he and his family are “so grateful for every ounce of pure love he gave our entire family” and are thankful “didn’t suffer long as he quietly and bravely left in the night.” Johnson also shared that he hoped he would see his furry friend again.

“Not sure how spirits work but come back and visit every once in a while so we can get in trouble and laugh again,” wrote Johnson.
Johnson adopted the adorable French Bulldog, named after his “Fast & Furious” character Luke Hobbs, with his brother Brutus in 2015. Unfortunately, Brutus tragically passed away shortly after his adoption.
Over the years, Johnson has made it clear that Hobbs was his treasured companion. He even got his pup a role in a major motion picture film.
In a behind-the-scenes video uploaded on Instagram, Johnson explained that he helped his pup, Hobbs, establish his career as an actor, starting with a cameo in “Hobbs & Shaw.”
"Today we’re on the set of ‘Hobbs & Shaw,’ and it’s a very special day, because we have arguably the biggest star of the movie: Hobbs himself… I talked to Hobbs, I said, ‘Do you want to be in the movie?’ He’s like, ‘Yeah, I’ll be in the movie,’” said Johnson while filming the video.
Hobbs was often featured on his owner’s Instagram account. For instance, in April 2020, Johnson shared an adorable picture of him holding his pup.

“We walked Hobbs a mile down the road so he can get some fresh air and guess who gets to carry him all the way back home because he was too tired,” read the caption of the post.
Johnson also proceeded to take a dig at his friend and co-star Central Intelligence Kevin Hart, writing, “ironically, this is also how I hold and carry @kevinhart4real.”
Rest easy, Hobbs, you very good boy.
