Here's How Vito the Pug Celebrated Winning the 23rd Annual National Dog Show

If you are a pug enthusiast (like myself), you’re likely ecstatic about Vito the Pug’s big win at the 23rd Annual National Dog Show, held on November 28.

On November 29, Vito and his handler Michael Scott appeared together on “The TODAY Show.” During the interview, Scott said he was pleased Vito took home the title of “Best in Show” at the event, presented by Purina.

“It was wonderful. You never know going into these things. And everyone starts from scratch everyday. So to come out on top at the end of the day was wonderful,” said Scott.

When asked what Vito did to celebrate his accomplishment, Scott replied that his furry friend got some rest and chowed down on some Purina food.

“He likes to go home and eat Pro Plan,” said Scott.

In an interview immediately after Vito’s November 28 win, Scott shared why he believed Vito came out as the number one pup at the competition.

“He’s got a beautiful head and expression. He’s a very compact dog. Which they are supposed to be. And his movement — he’s got wonderful movement and a side gate, which is appealing to a lot of people,” said Scott.

In addition, Scott joked that Vito is “very smug” about his win.
