Best Ways To Celebrate Valentine's Day With Your Pup

Loves come and go but your pup is the LOVE of your life. Sometimes Cupid’s big day gets a bad wrap. Valentine’s Day is an excuse to spend an entire day showering loved ones with affection. This Valentine’s Day take the time to celebrate your soulmate. And by soulmate I mean, your dog. Here are 6 ways to have a pawsome February 14 with your furever love.

Serve Your Pup Pancakes in Bed

One sure-fire way to make your pup feel appreciated is to serve them breakfast in bed. For the sake of your duvet cover, you may want to skip out on the wet food. Instead, you can make your pooch a plate of Rachel Ray’s Valentine's Day Sweet Pooch Pancakes. And don’t worry, you don’t have to be a celebrity chef to make these flapjacks. The recipe is extremely simple and actually pretty delicious--  even for humans who are not accustomed to eating kibble. You’ll probably be tempted to sneak some off of Fido’s plate.

Bake Them Some Heart-Shaped Cookies

If your furry friend isn’t a big fan of breakfast, bake her some heart-shaped cookies instead. Make your pup some homemade treats. We highly recommend Whisk and Wag with various flavors including:

Peanut Butter & Berry

Sweet Potato & Spice

Honey & Oats

Apple & Cinnamon

You’ll also want to purchase a heart-shaped cookie cutter. If Fifi is willing to share, you may want to head over to the local dog park and spread the love by doling out any extras.

Take a Stroll in a Botanical Garden

Instead of your usual walk around the neighborhood, treat your pooch by taking them somewhere that is a little more romantic. Most botanical gardens allow well-behaved dogs, as long as they are on a leash. While you are at the garden, you and your doggo can get in some exercise in a scenetic atmosphere where you can occasionally stop and smell the roses.

Head Over Restaurant with a Dog-Friendly Patio

Dogs love to be wined and dined. Look up the highest rated restaurant in your area with a dog-friendly patio. While your pooch will appreciate just spending time with you, they’ll love the outing even more if you order the most expensive item on the menu and sneak them bites under the table. Better yet, just order two plates and set one on the ground. (Actually don’t do this, there’s a good chance the waitstaff won’t be too happy with your behavior and your date may be cut short.)

Have Your Pup's Portrait Taken at a Local Mall

To commemorate the amazing day, head over to the local mall and get you and your pup’s portraits taken. For the photo shoot, wear matching pink and red outfits.

Shower Them with Gifts

While most dogs won’t admit it, all pooches tend to be on the materialistic side. To show them how special there are to you, shower them with gifts, like a HuggleHounds Shimmer-Heart Valentine Hedgehog Dog Toy or a ZippyPaws Rosé Happy Hour Crusherz Dog Toy
