Tom Schwartz (Sort of) Offers Amanda Batula and Kyle Cooke Advice on Co-Parenting Their Dogs
If you’re like me and are a dog lover and a massive Bravo fan, I know that you are concerned about Kyle Cooke and Amanda Batula’s current dog co-parenting situation. I just want their rescue dogs, Reese and Ryder, to thrive amid their parents' separation and the messiness that has followed!
Former Vanderpump Rules star and current The Valley personality Tom Schwartz, who famously owned two very good boys, Butter and Gordo, with his ex-wife, Katie Maloney, commented on Kyle and Amanda’s situation with their dogs. During a May 2026 interview on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen, Schwartz was asked if he had “any advice for Kyle and Amanda [about] co-parenting dogs” and to share his current “custody agreement” with “Katie for Gordo and Butter.”
While Schwartz didn’t really offer any advice for Kyle and Amanda (or Reese and Ryder for that matter), he shared that he now has main ownership of Butter and Gordo.
“In the beginning, we did every other week. But I think it was stressful on the dogs, so we talked; we had a great conversation about it. She was like, ‘Let’s just keep them with you,’” said Schwartz, who finalized his divorce from Katie in 2022.
Schwartz clarified that Katie will often visit the canine companions.
“She comes and picks them up whenever she wants to,” said Schwartz.
Kyle Cooke and Amanda Batula Brought Home Reese and Ryder in 2022
Kyle and Amanda adopted their two dogs in 2022. The former couple originally fostered the pups from Waldo’s Rescue Pen, a non-profit organization based in New York, before deciding to give them a forever home.
While we’re not positive how Amanda and Kyle’s custody agreement is going after the West Wilson of it all, Amanda shared that she and her estranged husband had been peacefully co-parenting their rescue dogs following their split in a January 2026 interview on Sirius XM’s Radio Andy.
“We talk all the time, you know, we’re both traveling,” said Amanda during the interview. “So, I’m watching the dogs, he’s watching the dogs, we’re co-parenting the dogs together.”
Kyle was spotted walking his pups during a very candid April 2026 interview shortly after the news that Amanda was dating West. While he was spilling the tea, Reese and Ryder took turns barking at passersby. While Kyle deemed the behavior embarrassing, we think the dogs were simply sharing their own opinions on the matter.
In April 2026, paparazzi also caught Kyle and Amanda meeting up in NYC, alongside Reese and Ryder. Kyle seemed to be handing over the very good girls to Amanda so she could spend time with them.
