Katie Maloney Gives an Update on Co-Parenting Her Dogs With Ex Tom Schwartz
“Vanderpump Rules” star Katie Maloney is giving an update on co-parenting her precious pups, Butter and Gordo, with her ex-husband, Tom Schwartz.
As fans know, Maloney and Schwartz decided to share custody of the very good boys following their October 2022 divorce. During a November 2024 episode of the “Brutally Anna” podcast, Maloney said Butter and Gordo now primarily live with Schwartz. She shared that she will take care of the dogs if Schwartz is out of town.
“They’re still with me like every four to six weeks,” said Maloney.
She explained that while the canine companions initially lived with her every other week, she felt she needed to spend less time with Schwartz.
“I feel like it was causing us to be in a lot more contact, which as much as I want to be in contact with him, I don’t want to have to tell him my schedule every single week. I don’t really want to know his schedule every week,” said Maloney.
In addition, she said she wanted her furry friends to have more consistency in their schedule.
“And also most importantly, I think it was also harder on the dogs. Because they really thrive in their routine. And he was always the one who implemented all of that. Like, I did other stuff in the household but he was the dog guy,” said Maloney.
She stated that her ex-husband spoiled Butter and Gordo. She said while she loves the dogs, she will never “match” the amount of “attention that he gives them.” In addition, Maloney said the dogs are Schwartz’s lifeline.
“If one of us moved out of state or something, they’re not going to come with me. I’m not going to do that to him. And it breaks my heart,” said Maloney.
Maloney also clarified that she is able to see the dogs any time she would like.
