The Stars of 'Slow Horses' & Their Super Cute Dogs
I’ll be honest with you, I haven’t been tuning into the hit Apple TV show, Slow Horses. But I can tell you who is, my dog. For the last week, it’s nearly impossible not to catch her on my husband’s lap binge-watching the British spy drama.
To celebrate the show’s new sixth season, my furry friend recommended that we spotlight some of the biggest dog-lovers on the cast. Without further ado, here are the stars of Slow Horses and their adorable canine companions.
Jack Lowden
It seems that Jack Lowden’s terrier may be the reason he won’t be taking on the role of another famous spy, 007. In an October 2026 interview with the Associated Press, Lowden’s wife, actress Saoirse Ronan, addressed the rumor that her husband is set to play James Bond. She jokingly stated that Lowden, who plays River Cartwright on Slow Horses, is too busy to take on the iconic role, especially with their dog and new baby.
“We’re kind of getting on with our life, to be honest. We have plenty of other things to be dealing with. So, yeah, it’s not really a subject that’s coming up in our house, to be honest. The dog needs to be walked, the dinner needs to be made—we’re most focused on that,” said Ronan.

Gary Oldman and his wife, Gisele Schmidt, adopted a pooch in 2018. The pup is called Bisto Padfoot Oldman, named after Oldman’s Harry Potter character, Sirius “Padfoot” Black, who can turn into a large black dog.

Christopher Chung, who plays Roddy Ho, is a proud pup parent to a very good girl named Keiko. The Shiba Inu has her very own Instagram page with over 1,000 followers.

James Callis, the actor behind Claude Whelan, has two adorable pups who seem to enjoy going to the dog park.
