The Stars of ‘Bridgerton’ and Their Adorable Dogs
As everyone is all too aware, this past year(s) has been rough. Thankfully, Shonda Rhimes gave a perfect form of escapism -- another season of Netflix’s Regency-era show, Bridgerton. Now my dog and I love Jane Austen, gossip, and gorgeous gowns, so Bridgerton is right up our alley. We also appreciate that the show has a super-talented cast, with quite a few who are major dog lovers.
Without further ado, here are the cast of Bridgerton and their furry friends.

While speaking to The Standard in March 2021, Jonathan Bailey, who plays Lord Anthony Bridgerton, revealed that he and his family share a spunky cockapoo named Benson. According to Bailey, he “looked after” the dog at the start of the pandemic in 2020. Bailey said the situation became difficult after Benson “ate a sock,” which “came up again three days later.”

Nicola Coughlan, who expertly plays Penelope Featherington, took to Twitter in February 2020 to celebrate her last day on set for the show’s first season. As a treat to fans, she uploaded a “bonus” picture of herself and two super cute pups that presumably belong to her.

As fans of the acclaimed series are aware, Julie Andrews is the voice of Lady Whistledown. Not only is she a legendary actress whose career has spanned over 70 years, but she is also a devoted dog mom to two poodles, Button and Barney.

While it’s unclear if Hannah Dodd, who plays Francesca Bridgerton, owns a pup, it seems like she’s a major fan of furry friends. In a May 2023 Instagram upload, the actress can be seen snuggling a cute Dachshund.
Bonus: Golda Rosheuvel’s On-Screen Canine Companions
Like Dodd, we can’t tell if Golda Rosheuvel actually owns dogs. However, her character Queen Charlotte is known for pampering her Pomeranians. In a 2020 interview with Express, the actress shared some insight about her furry co-stars.
“I do very well with dogs, and these were very feisty so you had to calm them down a little bit, but they were excellent dogs. They were as rowdy as the Queen sometimes, but I loved that,” revealed Rosheuvel.
