'Selling Sunset' Stars Throw An Epic Dog Birthday Party

Here at Woof Republic, we are massive fans of the Netflix reality series “Selling Sunset.” For those unaware, the show, which premiered in 2019, focuses on employees at the Los Angeles-based real estate brokerage firm, called the Oppenheim Group, owned by Jason Oppenheim.

We appreciate that Oppenheim is completely obsessed with his dogs, Niko and Zelda, who he co-parents with his ex-girlfriend and current employee Mary Fitzgerald. In season 4, episode 5, the pair threw an extravagant birthday party for both of their dogs. During a confessional interview, Fitzgerald explained that Niko was turning 15 and Zelda was about to be 4-years-old.

“Jason and I share custody of our dogs Niko and Zelda since we dated so we are throwing a birthday party for both of them because their birthdays are just a couple days apart and the party is going to be so much fun. We’re going to invite all of our friends and it’ll be nice to get along peacefully without some people from our office,” said the 40-year-old.

The shindig was held at Oppenheim’s gorgeous property. Guests of the canine variety were offered dog-friendly tacos and some tasty treats. Humans were able to indulge with specialty cocktails named after Niko and Zelda.

During the party, Oppenheim read aloud a poem he wrote for his eldest pooch.

“Niko at the age of 15 you’re all grown up gone are the days as you as a pup, you teach me about life every single day in the little things you do to show me the way. You’re one of a kind, a dog beyond your years. My love for you could bring me to tears. Everyday together brings me so much joy. I love you always Niko, you’re my boy,” recited the real estate broker.

Oppenheim also shared that he decided to help pups in need.

“Niko and Zelda donated $5,000 to the Burbank Animal Shelter,” said the 44-year-old.

He then noted that the shelter “is where Chishell [Stause] got [her rescue dog] Gracie.”

The first four seasons of “Selling Sunset” are available to watch on Netflix.
