Oscar Winner Jessica Chastain Has An Adorable Three-Legged Rescue

Jessica Chastain has certainly made her mark in the entertainment industry over the past 28 years. The “Eyes of Tammy Faye” star finally snagged an Academy Award for Best Actress after being nominated in 2012 and 2013.

Obviously, there are plenty of reasons to love Chastain. For one, she is incredibly talented. She also happens to be super gorgeous. Full transparency though, I am a big fan of the “Zero Dark Thirty” actress because she is a rescue advocate. While speaking to People magazine in 2017, Chastain explained that she has “always been a huge animal lover.”

“I’ve adopted every animal I’ve ever had, I’ve rescued — or they’ve rescued me, you might say,” stated the actress.

She went on to say that “the greatest lesson that [she has] learned from rescue animals is that they don’t feel sorry for themselves.”

The actress is also a devoted dog mom to a very sweet three-legged rescue named Chaplin. During a 2014 interview on “The Ellen DeGeneres Show,” Chastain shared that her poodle mix inherited her desire to be an actor. She warned DeGeneres that her furry friend, who was backstage, may want to make an appearance on the talk show.

“He will probably try to sneak out on this stage at any moment because he wants to be in movies so bad. He snuck on stage when I was on Broadway, he hopped out,” stated Chastain.

The actress explained that Chaplin had been hanging out “in [her] dressing room and someone opened the door.”

“I was performing, it was a very dramatic scene and I could hear ‘cause his collar jingles – there’s a sound that he makes because he hops, it’s like a jing-a, jing-a, and I was on stage and I heard it coming. It was getting louder and louder and I thought, ‘oh god, at any moment, he is going to be out on this stage,’” shared the 45-year-old.

She shared that once her canine companion made his way onto the stage, “the audience gasped and laughed.” Unfortunately for Chaplin, his Broadway debut was cut short.

“I just walked off stage because I knew he would follow me and he kind of jingled, jingled, jingled off and then I picked him up and handed him off to someone and then came back on stage and finished my line,” stated Chastain.

Don’t worry though – the “Molly’s Game” star did bring her pup out for curtain call to make sure that he got all the applause he deserved.
