‘Love On The Spectrum’ Star Kaelynn Partlow Has A Special Bond With Her Service Dog

Kaelynn Partlow appeared on the second season of the Netflix reality series, “Love on the Spectrum.” While she did not find a romantic partner on the show, she shared she had “a really good experience” during a May 2022 interview with WYFF News 4

“I think the crew and production did a lot of work educating themselves about autism. So, they were really sensitive to people's different sensitivities in terms of sensory or just kind of being overwhelmed. They were really conscious about that so I was really appreciative,” said the 24-year-old.

When she is not starring on a hit dating show, Partlow is a senior therapist at Project Hope Foundation. She is also passionate about furry friends and often visits dog shows with her autism service dog, Finnigan. The black lab sometimes participates in the shows and occasionally snags a ribbon or two.

In a TikTok video, uploaded on July 27, Partlow shared how Finnigan helps her during her daily life. She explained that the 5-year-old dog is able to accompany her at all times “under the Americans with disabilities act which is a federal law.”

“Finnigan is trained to nudge me when he hears alarms like the oven, a timer, a fire alarm, if I’m not responding fast enough. He also does deep pressure therapy where he applies his body weight to my legs and chest to force deep breathing when necessary. Finnigan is trained to buffer crowds by walking circles around me creating a physical barrier to prevent others from getting too close. Finn can follow my family members when we’re out so I don’t get separated from them. He can also help locate them if we do get separated,” said the “Love on the Spectrum” star.

In a May 2022 Instagram post, Partlow shared that she and her precious pooch were recognized while at a dog show. In the caption of the post, she shared that she appreciated the attention.

“Finny and I did some sightseeing and a tiny bit of shopping at a local dog show! We also got recognized by a couple fans! I really love that people are excited to watch the show and learn about something that’s so important. Sure, the show is more light-hearted and fun rather than educational, but I feel that there are tremendous educational benefits to the public being able to see the incredible variety of the people who make up the autism spectrum. So if you’re one of those wonderful people out there who are watching/have watched the show, thank you! 💗,” wrote Partlow.
