Is Celery a Safe Snack for Dogs?
While making soup yesterday, I was chopping up celery with my dog keenly watching me. I soon realized that she was begging for the fibrous vegetable. While I don’t usually give in to her many demands regarding food, I figured a chomp or two of celery would be okay, as it’s actually a safe food to give our furry friends.
According to the American Kennel Club, celery is a decent snack for furry friends because it's low in fat and has plenty of vitamins and minerals. However, you do need to be careful when cutting up the celery into small pieces before feeding it to your dog. Otherwise, it could get stuck in their airways.
Also, please talk to your dogs’ vet before adding anything to their diet, like celery!
