“Don't be put off by a busy, hectic or fast paced waiting area as this can sometimes mean a popular, well-liked and hard-working clinic,” said Dr. Patterson.

If the clinic is not busy, get the scoop on their hours of operation, pricing, and if they take pet insurance. You may also consider voicing your specific beliefs regarding your pet’s care to see if they line up with the clinic’s.
“I would have an idea of what my principles and overall ethics on animal care are, and then I would ask the veterinarian and staff what they think,” explained Patterson.
