Are Foggy Dog Beds Worth The Price?
If you are a pup parent who appreciates style and sustainability, you are probably aware of the brand The Foggy Dog. The company, which was founded in 2016 by Rose Shattuck, uses recycled materials and natural fabrics to make their chic, handcrafted products, that are manufactured in the United States. The Foggy Dog also deserves recognition as they donate a pound of food to various dog rescues with each purchase.
The brand sells leashes, collars, bandanas, bow ties, toys, and bedding, which are available in several patterns and sizes. The price ranges from $45 to $249, depending on the bed’s size and pattern.
While the designs are absolutely adorable, some dog owners may be curious if Foggy Dog’s luxury bedding is actually worth the price.
Here’s what some reviewers had to say:
Most of the brand’s bedding has 5-star reviews. For instance, pup parents seem to love the Indigo Mud Cloth Dog Bed.
“My dog has thick shaggy fur and gets hot easily, so I wanted to get him a bed made of natural fibers so he stays cool. He adores his new bed, and I love the beautiful fabric that coordinates with our home decor. I was a bit concerned about spending so much on a dog bed but it has been totally worth it. Thanks Foggy Dog!” shared one pup parent.
“There are a million choices out there for dog products, but I was so thrilled to find The Foggy Dog. I was willing to invest some money in a good looking dog bed for our living room - it's a new piece of furniture! I was very happy to realize upon its arrival that it is as tough as it is lovely. My new puppy started chewing on the corner right away, but to no avail - the pillow cover is strong and durable. And I would be happy to sport this floor pillow even without the dog - though he does make a cute picture on it!” added another 5-star reviewer.
A 3-star reviewer shared, however, that they were not overly impressed with the Ticking Stripe Dog Bed.
“This seems to be no more than a glorified pillow. My puppy showed no interest. Maybe it will work for bigger dogs. For almost $90, I think you’re better off just buying a canvas covered pillow for much cheaper,” wrote the dog owner.
Another pup parent shared a similar complaint and noted that while the product was “very pretty,” their dog managed to “chew a corner off within a day.”
A different pup parent who purchased the Buffalo Check Plaid Dog Bed shared that they believed the bed “might not be for chewers.”
“This dog bed is beautiful and seems to be of good quality. Unfortunately, my pup things his bed is a toy. It has a metal zipper, but my pup is still able to pull the zipper a part. He’s also done some work on it and it now has a small hole. The positive of the metal zipper is that I can usually back-zip it and then rezip it to fix, which is more than I can say for the ones we’ve had previously,” read the 3-star review.
