Danny Trejo Shares Hilarious Story About His Late Chihuahua, Dixie
Actor Danny Trejo announced the loss of his 16-year-old chihuahua, Dixie, in a July 1 Instagram post. The upload featured a beaming Trejo holding his beloved pup.
In the caption of the post, the actor encouraged his fans to spend time with their precious pets.
“Hold your babies tight for me, please. Today I lost my little Dixie Wixie,” wrote Trejo.
Trejo shared a humorous story about Dixie following her passing during a July 3 interview with TMZ. He shared that despite being quite petite, Dixie was the boss in his canine-filled household.
“When Dixie woke up in a bad mood, because she would stay in my room, she would go outside and chase the pitbull into his doghouse,” recalled the 80-year-old with a laugh. “He would be crying in there. And she would sit right in front. It was so funny.”
Trejo then stated that Dixie was “unbelievable” and “a great dog.”
“It was so funny. She was the smallest dog and she actually ruled the house,” continued the actor. “She would go outside and the other dogs would kind of fade away.”
He then shared he has a great love for all canine companions.
“Dogs are so special. They serve in our armies. They do everything for us. Literally,” said Trejo.
Trejo made similar comments about his appreciation for furry friends in a 2022 interview with Whistle.
“I love dogs. I don’t like people who don’t like dogs,” said Trejo.
