12 Incredible Celebrity Dog Moms

With Mother’s Day (and Dog Mom’s Day) coming up, we thought we would celebrate by spotlighting some incredible celebrity dog moms. Without further ado, here are 12 famous females who are passionate pup parents. 

Jennifer Garner

Jennifer Garner is the ultimate dog mom to Birdie a golden retriever! Woof Republic when nuts when Garner debuted on her Instagram that she was reading books to Birdie. They are frequently spotted by the puparazzi out and about in LA taking walks!

Ariana Grande

Ariana Grande may be best known for being an incredible singer, but she is also a devoted dog owner. Currently, she has over 12 dogs, of all different shapes, sizes, and breeds, ranging from Pit Bulls to Yorkshire Terriers. The newest members of her furry family are Snape and Lily, named after Harry Potter characters, who she adopted in July 2019. 

Olivia Munn 

Actress Olivia Munn is a mom to two precious pups, Sir Chancelot, also known as Chance, a Cavalier King Charles, and Frankie, a terrier mix. In an article Olivia penned in 2017 for People magazine, she noted that the dogs have vastly different personalities. She playfully described Chance, who she met at an event for Cause for Paws in 2019 and almost immediately adopted, as the “Pope Francis of dogs.” According to The Newsroom star, his sweet and loving disposition has enabled him to become a therapy dog. Frank, on the other hand, is more energetic and enjoys “bark[ing] at birds.” She asserted, however, that she does not have a favorite and both of her boys  “truly light up [her] life.” 

On top of being a pup parent, Olivia has partnered with the Shelter Pet Project. As an ambassador, she has filmed numerous PSAs to encourage others to adopt rescue animals. 

Chelsea Handler

Comedian Chelsea Handler tragically lost both of her dogs, Tammy and Chunk, in 2018. Following their passing, she decided to adopt two Chow-Chow rescues, called Bert and Bernice. The former Chelsea Lately host regularly features the precious pups on her Instagram page, so it’s definitely worth a follow.  Watching Chelsea be a dog mom to that duo keeps us thoroughly entertained!

Chelsea is the ultimate dog mom!! And the dog with a sense of humor to match Chelsea was Chunk,. RIP Chunk, we miss ya! You kept us entertained! Chunk was the ultimate celebrity dog in our opinion!

Selena Gomez 

In March, actress and singer Selena Gomez decided to adopt an adorable puppy, named Daisy, admid the COVID-19 pandemic. While streaming on Instagram Live, she explained that she had the intention to foster the pup, but “couldn't help it” and decided “to keep her." She also noted that her other pooch, Winnie, has been enjoying his new sister’s company. 

Amanda Seyfried 

Amanda Seyfried’s relationship with her beloved Australian Shepherd, Finn, exemplifies the notion that rescues can end up rescuing their owners. In a 2019 interview with People magazine, the actress explained that she suffered from anxiety throughout her 20s. She stated that the combination of the right antidepressants and Finn’s companionship has improved her mental health. Currently, the pup is in his twilight years, something that Amanda has difficulty dealing with. She noted, however, that she has been “living in the moment” with her pup. 

Natalie Portman 

In November 2019, Natalie Portman adopted a sweet rescue from Paws for Life K9 Rescue, where pups are trained by inmates. The precious pooch, whose name has not yet been announced, is Natalie’s second dog. She had previously adopted a mixed breed, called Penny. 

Chrissy Teigen

Over the years, model Chrissy Teigen has won over America’s heart with her excellent hosting abilities, her delicious recipes, and her quippy Tweets. Her devotion to dogs is just another reason to love her. Chrissy and her husband, John Legend, are proud pup parents to Paul, a bulldog, and Petey, a poodle. Paul has been a member of the Teigen-Legend family for years, but Petey is a new addition. The couple adopted the pup this past January from The Wagmor Pet Hotel & Spa, a rescue based in Studio City. 

We even talked to Sophie Gamand about Chrissy Teigen as a dog mom because she had Luna’s nursery full of photos of dogs including many by the acclaimed Sophie Gamand who is known for her Pitbull Flower power photography series.

Kaley Cuoco

Kaley and her husband Karl are the embodiment of PACK mentality and what a Pack they have!! Cuoco is a fierce advocate for pitbulls and is constantly bringing attention to rescue advocacy and promoting pitbulls as the best breed. She is constantly fostering and we’ve watched her joke that she has to keep control from adopting all the pups!! She’s an incredible dog mom and we thank her for all that she does for pitbulls breeds and their advocacy. Kaley’s relationship particularly with her boy Norman is so special and makes us love her even more if that’s possible!

We got to meet her at the Stand Up for Pitbulls event and she was such a gem! Kaley, thanks for being a dog mom to all the rescue pups!!

Jennifer Anniston

She’s funny, she’s beautiful and she loves Rescue dogs!! What can Jennifer Anniston not do!! Anniston has been a proud dog mom to many pups. She recently took to her Instagram to share a selfie with her pup Clyde having a fun day at work! We love that for Anniston she is a proud advocate of rescue pups and highlights the power of the human/dog bond regularly making her a top Dog mom!

Kristen Bell

Bell is an avid dog mom and rescue advocate!!! She has two pups named: Mr. Shakes and Lola!! We love that Bell highlights the human/dog bond and works diligently to use her platform to promote dog rescue and programs like the Pawsitive Change Program which allows inmates to become certified dog trainers changing those men’s lives completely!

Michelle Obama

Michelle Obama is the proud dog mom to 2 Portugese Water Dogs named Sunny and Bo. Bo is known for playing football with President Obama on the White House lawn and Sunny has gained notoriety for his fun antics and being overly friendly. Including once knocking over a 2-year-old to give her kisses!! These two pups are enjoying their new digs and the next adventure with their parents Michelle and Barack! Michelle, what can’t you do! We would love to see a new version of your book Becoming the Best Dog Mom.
