Can Dogs Eat Pineapples?
I don’t know about you, but I like to spread my summers munching on as much fruit as humanly possible. I especially love eating my weight in pineapple.
However, when I’m gorging on the delicious fruit, my furry friend gives me her very best puppy dog eyes, making it very difficult not to share. Thankfully for her, pineapples are safe to give to canine companions!
According to the American Kennel Club, the fruit is actually pretty healthy for our furry friends. It have plenty of vitamins and minerals!
That being said, you need to be mindful of how much pineapple you are giving your pup due to its high sugar content. Depending on the size of your pooch, a bite or two of pineapple is more than enough. While this might seem obvious, you need to make sure your pineapple is completely peeled and cut into small pieces before giving it to your furry friend.
You should also always check with your vet before introducing any new foods to your dog’s diet – including pineapples!
