8 Celebrities Who Included Their Dogs On Their Wedding Day
During your wedding, you want to be surrounded by those you love most. For this reason, it is super understandable to want to include your furry friend in the ceremony.
Several celebrities decided to do just that and got hitched with their canine companion by their side.

Sophie Turner and Joe Jonas
“Game of Thrones” actress Sophie Turner wed her husband, Joe Jonas, in June 2021. The couple had two incredible ceremonies to celebrate their marriage. Turner and Jonas’ beloved Alaskan Klee Kai, Porky Basquiat, was the guest of honor during their second, more elaborate ceremony in France, as reported by Time.
Ellen DeGeneres and Portia de Rossi
Known animal lover Ellen DeGeneres and her wife, Portia de Rossi, invited their sweet pup, Wolf, to their 2008 wedding. Unfortunately, the furry friend passed away in 2020.
Brianne Howey
“Ginny and Georgia” star Brianne Howey and her husband Matt Ziering tied the knot in June 2021. The actress’ canine companion, Bodie, was able to watch his parents say, “I do.”
Howey spoke about her precious pup in a December 2022 interview with Shape magazine. She shared she “may be overly obsessed with” her Australian Shepherd mix. She also noted that she and her husband adopted their furry friend “at the beginning of [the] COVID [pandemic].”
“He was the biggest heart-opener. I can be so cranky and in the worst mood or just feeling so down and in my head and having a hard time getting out of whatever rut, and I just go hang out with my Body boy, and it's the best,” said the 33-year-old.
Dan Smyers
People magazine reported Dan + Shay singer Dan Smyers and his wife, Abby Law, included their pups, Chief, Joy, and Ghost, in the wedding party for their 2017 wedding ceremony. The canine companions looked adorable in their fashionable finery.
Law also mentioned her beloved dogs in her vows to Smyers, referring to him as “the father to [their] canines.”
Adam Sandler
Comedian Adam Sandler was a devoted dog dad to his very good Bulldog, Meatball. The furry friend was certainly busy during his owner’s 2003 wedding, acting as both his ring bearer and Best Man.
Lake Bell
Pit Bull advocate Lake Bell’s sweet pups, Texas and Margaret, excelled in their positions of “dogs of honor” during her 2013 ceremony.
