6 Awesome Places To Take Your Dog In Seattle This Summer
One of the most dog-friendly places to visit in the U.S. is Seattle, Washington. This thriving city has plenty of dog parks and hip establishments that welcome canine companions. If you happen to visit Seattle this summer, here are a few spots to check out with Spot.
Voff Bark & Brew
While Voff Bark & Brew is technically a bar, it also makes for a wonderful dog park. 21-year-old and up patrons can bring their dogs to the bar’s spacious, wrap-around outdoor area, where there are kiddie pools that will keep dogs cool during the summer months. The bar has numerous events throughout the year, including Trivia Tuesdays and outdoor movie nights. The entry fee is $8 per dog.
Luther Burbank Park
While Luther Burbank Park is about 20 minutes from downtown Seattle, your pooch is sure to thank you for making the trek. That is unless they despise water-based activities. In that case, it’s best to skip out on going to this park, as it spans 77 acres along Lake Washington’s shore. Water-loving dogs, however, do have the option to explore a majority of Luther Burbank Park as long as they are on a leash. If your pooch simply cannot be restrained, head over to the park’s north end, where there is a sizable off-leash dog park with access to the water.
Washington Park Arboretum
The Washington Park Arboretum is a gorgeous place to bring your furry friend. According to its website, “its 230 acres contain a dynamic assortment of plants, some found nowhere else in the Northwest.” This means you and your dog will experience some amazing sights and smells!
Bark Espresso
Seattle is known for serving some pretty good coffee! If you are looking for something caffeinated, head over to Bark Espresso and order one of their delicious drinks. As the name implies, dogs are more than welcomed at this trendy spot.
Ice Cream Cruise
There’s no better way to beat the summer heat than a cold tasty treat. Seattle offers an incredible experience for both humans and dogs alike, where you can enjoy some ice cream while on a boat floating on Seattle’s Lake Union. If you are lactose intolerant, no worries! The ice cream is not mandatory -- you can just enjoy your time on the relaxing 45-minute water tour.
Alki Beach Park
One of the best summer activities is going to the beach, especially if it's a dog-friendly one. The Alki Beach Park, located at Alki Ave SW, Seattle, is the perfect place to soak up some sun and catch some waves with your very good boy or girl.
