6 Dog-Friendly Places To Visit In Boston This Summer

Many people are eager to travel this summer after being cooped up for so long because of the coronavirus pandemic. Now is the time to take a trip to somewhere fun and exciting (as long as you still follow CDC guidelines). If you happen to have a dog, you’ll probably want to bring your precious pup with you. Now, this can be a complicated situation, as not a ton of places are super dog-friendly. Thankfully, Boston, Massachusetts, has plenty of pawsome places that welcome pups. Here are some spots to take Spot if you decide to travel to Boston this summer.

The Boston Public Garden is a perfect place to take your precious pooch on a walk. Due to the fact it was established in 1837, it very much has a Victorian-era vibe, which is great if your furry friend happens to be a fan of Charles Dickens or the Brontë sisters. And let’s face it, most dogs are. The public garden, located on Charles Street, doesn’t have an entry fee, meaning that you can use those extra bucks to buy Victorian-era-appropriate clothing for both you and your dog to make the experience even more immersive.

Dorchester Brewing Company

If you are over the age of 21, head over to the Dorchester Brewing Company, which has a dog-friendly patio. The establishment, located on Massachusetts Ave, is open every day from 11:30 am to 10 pm.

Freedom Trail

If you and your dog are interested in the American Revolution, head over to the Freedom Trail. While walking the 2.5-mile path, you’ll come across places that you’ll probably remember from your high school American history classes, like the Paul Revere House, Faneuil Hall, and the Bunker Hill Monument. Unfortunately, pups aren’t allowed in any of these establishments.

The Somerville Flea

Another super fun place to explore in Boston is The Somerville Flea, which is finally reopening in August. While at the flea market, you and your furry friend can visit vendors, selling either handmade or vintage items.

Squantum Point Park

The best way to beat the summer heat is to head over to a dog-friendly beach. According to Bring Fido, Squantum Point Park is a quaint dog beach near Boston that allows well-behaved pups, as long as they are wearing a leash.

Joe's American Bar and Grill

Joe's American Bar and Grill is a quintessential Boston restaurant. This dog-friendly establishment is located on the wharf and offers delicious seafood like lobster, muscles, and crispy calamari.
