5 Dog-Friendly Places To Visit In Nashville This Summer
If you are anything like me, you’ve been stuck at home for the past 18 months because of the pandemic. Now, I don’t know about you, but I’m ready to go on an adventure this summer (while following the CDC guidelines, of course). Unfortunately, because of all the time I’ve spent at home, my dog is a little clingy, and if I were to leave her to go on a trip, she would never forgive me. Thankfully, there are awesome places to visit in the United States that are pretty darn dog-friendly. One of these thriving cities is Nashville, Tennessee. Here are some places in Nashville that my dog and I will visit if we make the trip to Music City this summer.
Edley's Bar-B-Que
According to my dog, it’s a major crime to visit Tennessee and not BBQ. Edley's Bar-B-Que, which has four locations throughout Nashville, offers up some of the best BBQ in the city. And that’s saying a lot. My dog has already looked at the menu, and she’ll be having the brisket platter, baby back ribs, pork tacos, and a side of baked beans.
The Trails at Fontanel
Now I am not the most athletic and frankly, neither is my dog. She usually insists on being carried midway through walks. But even we’re interested in hiking the trails at Fontanel. This 2.5-mile trail is gorgeous and has plenty of shaded areas that will help us keep cool in the summer heat.
Centennial Park
Centennial Park is a scenic spot to have a picnic with Spot. While you’re there, you can take a stroll around Lake Watauga.
AmeriGhost Haunted Downtown Nashville Tour
If you and your furry friend are interested in spooky things, consider going on the AmeriGhost Haunted Downtown Nashville Tour. (Now, my dog is a skeptic so I might skip this one. I know that she’ll be heckling the tour guide the entire time which isn’t cool). But I'm a huge fan of ghosts, so listening to Nashville’s haunted history while taking a 90 stroll sounds like my ideal form of cardio.
Draper James
Draper James is a super cute, dog-friendly boutique that happens to be owned by America's sweetheart, Reese Witherspoon. My dog is insisting on going because she loves good old-fashioned retail therapy and the movie is “Legally Blonde.”
