Why Taylor Swift's Rumored Samoyed Is the Perfect Dog for a Lifelong Cat Lady

After months of wondering whether or not Taylor Swift and her husband, Travis Kelce, own a dog together, fans finally seem to have an answer. Page Six recently reported that Kelce got off Swift’s private plane with a gorgeous Samoyed, who looks strikingly similar to the pup the NFL star and Swift were spotted with in April. Swifties also pointed out that the couple appeared to have included a picture of the very good boy or girl at their recent Madison Square Garden nuptials. 

While Kelce and Swift, who famously own three cats, haven’t confirmed that they have a pup, a source told Page Six that the pair expanded their family of furry friends in 2025 and are “very happy” about their decision.

Now, some fans are perturbed that Swift may be a dog-mom after years of being a proud cat lady. However, the TikToker, Sarahndipitous, who is a veterinarian, recently took to the social media platform to assure Swifties that a Samoyed is a great choice for the cat-loving singer. 

“For all the Swifties who are panicking about that our cat lady now has a dog, I would just like you to know from a veterinarian that Samoyeds are just cats in dog bodies. They are very stubborn; they have their person that they love, they are sweeties, they are basically just big cats,” said the vet in her TikTok video, uploaded on July 13. 

According to the American Kennel Club, Samoyeds weigh between 35 and 60 pounds, are playful like children, and love to bark. Maybe this new pup can provide some backup vocals for Swift’s future albums.
