Viola Davis Is a Devoted Dog Mom to a Super Adorable Pup

It goes without saying that Viola Davis is one of the most talented actresses in Hollywood. Some fans of the Academy Award-winning actress, however, may not be aware that Davis is a devoted dog mom.

The “Air” actress and her husband, Julius Tennon, adopted their adorable furry friend named Bailey in 2020. Davis introduced her dog to her fans in an October 2020 Instagram post. The video featured the canine companion walking on a hardwood floor.

“Found the cure for the Covid blues. Meet our newest family member...BAILEY 🐕 💛💛 💛 #WalkingLikeHeOwnsOurHouse🤷🏿‍♀️,” read the caption of the post.

Since adopting the precious pup, Davis has uploaded numerous pictures and videos of her dog on Instagram. For instance, in March 2023 the actress celebrated National Puppy Day by posting photos that showed her and her daughter, Genesis Tennon, holding the dog.

“Happy National Puppy Day Bailey! We LOVE you! ❤️❤❤,” wrote the “How to Get Away with Murder” star.

In a September 2022 interview on “The Tonight Show With Jimmy Fallon,” Davis spoke about Bailey and noted he “was a pandemic dog.” She shared that he went from a small puppy to a dog who “has taken over.”

“Bailey has taken over the whole house. He knows how to open doors, he knows how to go through the pantries,” said Davis.

The actress also noted that her furry friend demands a particular diet.

“He’s eating the same snacks. And then Bailey, we got him dog food, he’s like ‘I don’t want that s***. Ya’ll have an organic diet, I want organic food too.’ Now we have Farmers Dog,” quipped Davis.
