This Is How Often You Should Be Brushing Your Dog's Fur
Not to brag, but my dog does have insanely gorgeous hair. I’m genuinely jealous of it. That being said, it is quite a lot of upkeep to ensure her beautiful mane doesn’t get matted. Not only does she get bathed once a week, she also gets brushed twice a day for at least 10 minutes.

Thankfully, most pet parents don’t have to brush their dogs’ hair this often. According to Petco, how often you need to brush your dog’s hair is dependent on their breed and coat. For instance, hairless pups, like Chinese Crested, need a light brushing twice a month. In addition, if you have smooth short-haired friends, such as Doberman, you’ll only have to take out the dreaded brush once a week. Meanwhile, pups with wiry, curly, or double-coated fur should be brushed thoroughly two times a week. All long-haired dogs need to be brushed every other day.
Now, if you want to brush your dog more than what is suggested that is fine. There is no harm in regularly brushing your dog. (My furry friend will disagree with this. She says the brush is an evil monster that needs to be destroyed.)

On top of brushing, all dogs need to be professionally groomed. According to Twin Peaks Veterinary Center, our canine companions should see their groomers about every two months, depending on their coat.
