The Stars of 'Superman' & Their Adorable Dogs

As a major Superman nerd and (dog-lover!), I am so excited to finally see James Gunn’s Superman! Obviously, I’m stoked to see David Corenswet’s version of Clark Kent. But I’m even more excited to see Krypto the Dog in a live-action movie.

In celebration of the new movie, I thought it would be super fun (see what I did there) to spotlight the cast of Superman and their adorable dogs.

David Corenswet is a pup proud parent to an adorable dog (and it’s not Kypro). The actor and his wife, Julia Best Warner, have a super cute spaniel named Ira, who often visited the Superman set. Corenswet’s on-screen love interest, Rachel Brosnahan, who plays everyone’s favorite reporter, Lois Lane, bought Ira his very own Superman cape.

“Ira needed his very own cape to match his daddy,” said Brosnahan during a June 2025 interview with Entertainment Tonight

If you’re a fan of  Brosnahan, you know it makes total sense that she would buy Ira a cape. The actress has two pups named Nikki and Winston. While speaking to “Men’s Journal,” the actress shared that she is obsessed with her canine companions. She told the publication:

"I can hang with the craziest of the crazy dog ladies. They’re my fur children. Nikki is a pit mix, and she’s so gentle and sweet and needy. She just stares at you with these human eyeballs. Her well is very deep. Then Winston is my Shiba Inu, who is filled to the brim with ’tude. He was fiercely independent, more like a cat, but he’s getting cuddlier."

According to early reviews, Isabella Merced is a complete scene-stealer as Hawkgirl. Merced has a beautiful little pup, who she often shows off to her Instagram followers.

Skyler Gisondo

Skyler Gisondo, who plays Clark and Lois’ Daily Planet co-worker Jimmy Olsen, has a very cute long-haired dachshund.

Mikaela Hoover

Mikaela Hoover, who plays another Daily Planet reporter, Cat Grant, has a 13-year-old adorable yorkie.
