Taylor Lautner Makes Super Relatable Comment About Being a Childless Dog-Owner

Actor Taylor Lautner, best known for his role as Jacob Black in the Twilight film franchise, just made a comment that’s super relatable if you’re a devoted dog-owner without any children of the human variety. 

While speaking to People magazine in August 2025, Lautner said he and his wife, Taylor Dome, who wed in 2022, are often asked if they are parents. Lautner said he’s quick to let curious individuals know that he is, in fact, a devoted dad to two furry friends, named Remi and Lily. 

"People ask, 'Do you have kids?' and our response is, 'Yes, we have two. And they're our dogs. They are our family. They are our children,’” said Lautner during the interview. 

And like the wonderful parents that they are, Lautner and Dome are helping Remi overcome her fear of water. 

“She loves everything except for water,” said Lautner with a laugh. “She's so picky, even about surfaces. If she steps on a surface she doesn't like, she freaks out. So she definitely doesn't like stepping in water. [She's] like, 'Something got on my feet and it's gross.’ We've gotten out on the lake, and I think she's entertaining the idea more. There's definitely some coercing that goes on with balls and treats that helps with that, but it is a work in progress still."

During an August 2022 interview with People magazine, Lautner noted that Dome was Lily’s owner before she began dating him. Lautner also shared that his dogs are “complete opposites.”

“Lily just wants to be left alone, wants to nap ... [while] Remy is the opposite. Let's play, play, play, eat, eat, eat," explained Lautner.
