Queer Eye's Jonathan Van Ness Opens Up About He's Handling His Dog's Behavioral Issues

As fans are well aware, Queer Eye’s Jonathan Van Ness is like sunshine personified. When he’s not styling hair and penning adorable children’s books, he’s giving fans an honest look at his life on social media.

On October 4, JVN uploaded an Instagram post that showed him posing with his dog, Pablo. According to publication, Austin360, the television personality adopted the pup in July, after visiting the Austin-based no-kill shelter, Austin Pets Alive!.

In the caption of the post, Jonathan revealed that his dog had some behavioral issues and will be “going to a behaviorist specialist for the next three weeks.” He clarified the pup has been exhibiting “some aggressive resource guarding behavior.” The hairstylist also noted that he has felt guilty “as a result of some of this behavior,” which is relatable to dog owners’ who have pups that share similar issues.

He went onto say that he’s “learned over the years when to ask for help and this is one of those times” and encouraged his followers to do the same if they ever need assistance.

Many commenters expressed their gratitude for Jonathan getting his dog the help that he needs.

“Love that you are doing this for him, so many are so quick to give up when pets aren’t ‘easy,’” wrote one fan, adding a string of pink heart emoji to the comment.

“Thank you for rescuing him and giving him a chance. Behavior modification and training is so important for rescue animals in their transition. You are an amazing soul,” added another commenter, followed by numerous red heart emoji.

“Good job being a smart & responsible adopted doggy dad! Best thing for him!” said a third follower.
