'Modern Family' Star Ariel Winter Shares Heartbreaking News About Her Beloved Dog
Actress Ariel Winter, best known for her portrayal of the brilliant Alex Dunphy on the ABC sitcom Modern Family, shared sad news with her fans.
On November 7, Winters took to her Instagram account to share that her beloved 11-year-old dog, Casper, had passed away. She described the situation as heartbreaking and said her furry friend “was the most special, funny, empathetic, loving, independent, sassy, clumsy and, of course, handsome good boi.”
“i’ll forever be grateful for the 11.5 years i had with him. he LOVED kids, occasional mischief, a cold floor, walks, awoo-ing at you, photos of himself in his Christmas pjs, his dragon scarf, barking at the neighbor dogs, policing his younger siblings, fish, and a good inner ear scratch, but above all else he loved us more than anything,” said Winters in the caption.
In addition, Winters wrote that she’s been in a state of disbelief over her precious pup’s passing.
“It still feels so unreal that he’s gone. i keep thinking the hospital is going to call and tell me a miracle happened and i can pick him up and bring him home. i hope the rainbow bridge is a beautiful place filled with everything he loves and NO thunderstorms,” continued Winters in the caption. “i hope that he’s happy and cozy there. i hope with everything in me that i can see him again one day and let him know one last time just how much he meant to me and how he’ll always have a piece of my heart. rip Casper, the scawiest fwuffiest boi with da fwuffiest paws and best ears and big teefs and big tail and big heart🐾 we miss and love you so much buddy.”
Winter’s boyfriend of six years, Luke Benward, took to the post’s comments section to share sweet words about their furry friend.
“He was so special. Funny, and stubborn, and sweet. The only dog that would literally talk back to you when he didn’t want to do what you were telling him to do. But he was so empathetic, he only ever came out of his cave if he wanted something usually pets or food OR if he felt like his momma needed him. He loved you so much and you treated him like royalty. Prince Casper,” wrote Benward.
In addition, the actor said that “Casper never met a person he didn’t love and never across a person who didn’t love him.”
“He was a special boy and I am so lucky I was able to help raise that sweet boy for 6 years. I’m probably going to read this later and smh at myself cause I’m still coming down from anesthesia but I love and miss that fuzz ball so much. He loved his momma more than anything. More than cold bathroom floors, more than drinking gallons water at a time, more than awooing at the neighbors dog, and more than a big bowl of fish. ❤️Long live king Casper 🤍,” continued Benward in his comment.
We’re so sorry for your loss, Ariel and Luke! Rest in peace, Casper, you very good boy!
