Millie Bobby Brown Reveals Her Poodle Did Not Get Along With Henry Cavill’s Beloved Dog Kal
Actress Millie Bobby Brown stars as the titular character in the “Enola Holmes” film franchise. In the Netflix original movies, the young detective follows in the footsteps of her older brother, Sherlock Holmes, played by Henry Cavill.
During a November 2022 interview with Canadian television personality, Chris Van Vliet, Brown mentioned she is a proud pup parent to six dogs named Dolly, Ronnie, Reggie, Leo, Nora, and Winnie. She shared she takes Winnie, who is a miniature poodle, to filming locations.
“I have six dogs, my baby Winnie the Pooh, she goes everywhere with me, she’s my set dog. And then I have my Great Dane. But they don’t come with me because they are bigger but they do fly overseas with me. Because I can’t live without them for too long,” shared the “Stranger Things” actress.
Brown noted that Cavill also brought his beloved American Akita, Kal, to the “Enola Holmes” set. She revealed Winnie did not take a liking to the 8-year-old dog, due to no fault of his own.
“Kal is amazing and I mean he’s so well-trained, it’s my dog, Winnie — it’s a smaller dog — smaller dogs can be really temperamental,” said the 18-year-old.
Like Brown, Cavill is a devoted dog owner. While speaking to On Demand Entertainment in December 2019, the “Witcher” actor shared Kal “has been an absolute savior for [him].”
“He is a true companion and in those moments where I just need another being around but not necessarily to be putting lots of effort in that person. He’s fantastic. To me, he’s very much — he’s a dog but he’s a companion. He’s a person as well,” stated the 39-year-old.
In a December 2022 People magazine interview, Cavill noted that his pup was his constant companion throughout the production of “The Witcher.” He clarified that the dog was usually inside his trailer, so he would not cause disruptions on set.
“He was there the entire time. He spent most of the time inside the trailer, rather than on set because when he can see me but he can’t get to me he tends to start making a lot of noise and we didn’t want him running in half way through a scene or half way through a sword fight, especially because he would be taking people down. So he was either on lead or in his trailer but he was always there,” shared Cavill.
“Enola Holmes” and “Enola Holmes 2” are currently streaming on Netflix.
