Meet Spain's World Cup Players and Their Adorable Dogs
Now, my dog and I aren’t the biggest soccer, AKA football, fans, but we have been tuning into the World Cup. Not only do we enjoy seeing fans from all around the world come together, but we also like seeing some drama play out on the field. To celebrate the upcoming World Cup finals, we thought we’d spotlight some of the biggest dog lovers on one of the top contenders for taking home the big trophy, Spain.
Without further ado, here is the Spanish team and their adorable canine companions.

Martín Zubimendi
Martín Zubimendi, who usually plays for England’s Arsenal, had his furry friend stay in Spain because of his home country’s warmer weather.
“My dog still lives in Spain. The thing is that I live alone here and he doesn’t deserve that kind of life. He deserves better, he wants the sun,” said Zubimendi in a January 2026 interview with The Sun.
Pedri
Pedri has a cutie, who seems to be a terrier, named Nilo.
