F1's Lewis Hamilton Is One Devoted Dog Dad

There are countless reasons to be a fan of British racing driver Lewis Hamilton. For one, he is a major star in the sport of Formula One racing. He also happens to be a massive dog lover. The 37-year-old rarely travels without his adorable English bulldog, Roscoe. In fact, F1 fans have probably seen the furry friend at one of Hamilton’s races.

According to Essentially Sports, the racing driver explained that he “tr[ies] to take him to as many as possible, because Roscoe’s getting old” in a 2021 interview.

“I don’t know how long I’ll have him around. So, I’m trying to keep him with me everywhere,” stated Hamilton.

He then asserted that Roscoe is his “best friend.”

“I can confide in him, and he brings me happiness every day. When I go training, he’s sad when I leave. And when I get back, he’s super happy. It’s a funny interaction!” stated Hamilton.

Roscoe is currently thriving as a social media star. The bulldog has over 400,000 dedicated Instagram followers that are obsessed with his posts.

Many of the uploads allow fans to get a glimpse of Hamilton and Roscoe’s close bond. For instance, on March 17, 2022, the account shared a picture of the devoted dog dad and his canine companion sitting in a car.

“I miss’s drivings with dads buts I knows he’s racings this weeks. Goods lucks dad, loves ya’s,” read the caption of the post.

Hamilton had another English bulldog named Coco, who unfortunately passed away in 2020. The 37-year-old shared the devastating news of the dog’s passing in a poignant Instagram post

“Last night at around 9pm, my beautiful little girl Coco died at home with the family by her side. Her little heart gave in, we think it was a heart attack. I tried to revive her but it was no use. She’d had the best day, happier than I’d seen her in a long time. She was such a special dog, born with so many problems and I feel so lucky to have adopted her. Her breeder said she was going to have to put her down as she wouldn’t be able to afford all the things she would need to survive, she went through a lot to become the bouncy, lazy loving dog she was. On her last day, we shared a special moment playing together which I will never forget. I will miss her snoring and how happy she was always to see me. She was only 6, healthy and happy. Naturally, my heart is broken but i hope she’s in a better place with my Aunty Diane. Wanted to share with you and thank those of you who loved and cared for her. #coco #restinpeace,” wrote Hamilton in the caption.
