Hollywood's Biggest Dog Lover Kaley Cuoco Welcomes First Human Child
Known dog-lover Kaley Cuoco and her boyfriend, Tom Pelphrey, have welcomed their first child, named Matilda Carmine Richie.
The new mom took to Instagram on April 1 to share the exciting news.
“💓 3-30-23 💓 Introducing, Matilda Carmine Richie Pelphrey, the new light of our lives! We are overjoyed and grateful for this little miracle 💓 Thank you to the doctors , nurses , family and friends who have helped us immensely over the last few days. We are blessed beyond belief 💗 @tommypelphrey didn’t think I could fall even more in love with you , but I did 💗,” read the caption of the post.
Here at Woof Republic, we have no doubt that the “Flight Attendant” actress will be a fantastic mother. After all, she has been an incredible dog mom to so many pups. Now, it is unclear how many furry siblings Matilda has as Cuoco has not disclosed the number of animals she has due to California laws. However, by our count it appears that the actress owns six rescue dogs named Shirley, Ruby, Tank, Blueberry, Dumptruck, aka Dumpy, Larry, and Miss Opal. Besides Matilda, Opal is the newest member of Cuoco’s family. The precious pup was adopted in February 2023 from the Beverly Hills-based rescue Deity Animal Rescue and Foundation.
Fans of “The Flight Attendant” may recognize her elderly chihuahua Dumpy, as he appeared in the show’s second season. The pup can even be seen in the season 2 trailer, where he is wearing a sweatshirt while sitting in a stroller.
Unfortunately, Cuoco’s new baby will not be able to meet her mother’s beloved dog, Norman, who passed away in January 2021. The 37-year-old adopted the pit bull mix nearly 15 years ago and named her production company, Yes, Norman Productions, after him. In an Instagram post announcing her loss, the actress shared that the dog “was [her] entire world for 14 years.”
“Thank you for smiling at me as you left this world, confirming for me once again our language was ours alone. You will always have my heart,” read the caption of the poignant post.
In addition to adopting rescues, the “Big Bang Theory” actress continually uses her wealth and her platform to spotlight furry friends in need. For instance, she shares information about adoptable dogs, many of which are Pit Bulls or have medical issues, meaning the chance of them finding their forever homes is relatively slim.
Here’s a big Congratulations to Kaley and Tom! We’re excited for Shirley, Ruby, Tank, Blueberry, Dumpy, Larry, and Miss Opal to have a new sister!
