How To Include Your Dog In Your Holiday Card

With the holidays approaching, you may be brainstorming the perfect card to send to your loved ones. If you are a pup parent, you will likely want to include your furry friend in the festivities. I, for one, truly believe my dog is the most photogenic member of my family. She also wholeheartedly agrees with this sentiment.

Here are a few ideas to feature your pup on your holiday card.

Wear Ugly Holiday Sweaters

Sporting an ugly holiday sweater is a quintessential winter activity. Now, you can easily purchase matching sweaters for you, your family, and your furry friend at any retailer. However, I recommend going to your local thrift store to collect whatever holiday-themed quirky pieces are available. Now, this only works if you have a large dog who can fit in human attire.

Once you have secured your sweaters, proudly pose for your picture.

Go Out In The Snow

If your dog enjoys the snow, take them out on a walk. While they frolic around in the sleet, take a few candid shots.

Pose Your Pooch By The Christmas Tree

Some dogs, like my own, prefer the indoors. While she would refuse to go out in the snow for an extended period of time, she would be perfectly happy posing in front of our Christmas tree.

Dress Your Dog As The Gift That They Are

My furry friend is obviously the biggest gift in my life. Unfortunately, she does remind me of this daily and berates me for not giving her nearly enough treats for all she has done for me. I digress.

If you have similar feelings about your dog, consider dressing them up as the gift that they are. All you’ll need is a beautiful bow and you’ll be good to go.

Pull Out The Santa Hats

Make your dog Santa Paws this holiday season by purchasing a festive red hat. If you are not afraid of your canine companion going mad with power, you can also give them their very own naughty and nice list.

Head to the Mall For A Professional Shoot

If you do not trust your photography ability, head to the mall for a professional shoot. Feel free to bring your holiday-themed props or/and clothing items.
