Gwen Stefani Announces Devastating Loss of Her Beloved Dog

Singer Gwen Stefani has made the sad announcement that her beloved dog, Betty, whom she shared with her husband, Blake Shelton, has passed away. 

In a September 5 Instagram upload, Stefani let her fans know that her family is mourning the loss of Betty, who was originally Shelton’s pup. The post featured several videos and pictures of the sweet girl with Shelton, Stefani, and her children, Kingston, Apollo, and Zuma. 

“It’s with the heaviest hearts that we share our sweet betty has gone to heaven 💔🕊️🐾 she made us all smile for 18 years… we’re going to miss her forever. thank u betty for all the love + joy u brought into our lives 🦋💗 gx,” read the post’s caption.

Several fans flocked to the comments section to share their support for Stefani and Shelton. 

“I’m so sorry.😔🥺 those of us who have had the honor to share our life with special furbabies unfortunately know this pain all too well. It is a loss that lives with us always. Wishing you peace and comfort.❤️,” wrote a commenter. 

“I’m so sorry for your loss! Losing our furbaby is so hard. I lost mine a year ago. Miss him everyday! ❤️😢 My condolences and prayers 🙏🏽 go out to you all. Sending hugs and ❤️ love!” added another. 

“my heart breaks for you. I recently went through this with my girl of 13 years. Thinking of you and sending prayers,” shared a different person. 

“Heartbreaking news. Losing a pet is like losing a family member,” commented an Instagram user. 

Fans of Shelton and Stefani may recognize Betty for starring in the music video for the couple’s 2020 song, “Nobody But You.” While discussing said music video during a 2020 interview with CMT, Shelton shared that Betty absolutely adored Stefani, whom he wed in 2021. 

“She’s Gwen’s dog now,” said Sheldon. 

Stefani then clarified that Betty “love[d] both of her parents, very much.”
